We are delighted to announce that Herefordshire CCG will be commissioning Taurus Healthcare Ltd to deliver a new 7 day service contract from 1st April 2017.
The service was originally a pilot, funded by the Prime Minister’s Challenge Fund and commenced in June 2014. During the next twelve months the service evolved, undergoing a number of changes and improvements which has resulted in a successful award of a new 7 day service contract for a period of two years by the CCG as a result of the commissioning responsibility transferring from NHS England.
In the first two years of operation the service managed over 52,800 appointments with GPs, Nurse Practitioners and Healthcare assistants across 3 hubs in Hereford, Leominster and Ross. In 2016/17 over 24,000 appointments are planned with 96% of users stating they were “extremely likely” to recommend the service to friends and family.
Taurus are looking forward to working with the commissioners, Herefordshire CCG on developing further equity of access to the hubs in support of general practice in Herefordshire. We take this opportunity to recognise the hard work of the 7 day team, to congratulate them on this achievement and wish them continued success in the new contract.
